The NFRN Members' Business Guide
Having carried out extensive writing, design and magazine production work for contract publisher Newtrade Publishing, Design and Print Centre’s Ian Whiteling was asked to run one of the company’s more demanding projects, the National Federation of Retail Newsagents Members’ Business Guide.
Although at first this may not appear to be one of the most exciting of projects, the 132-page annual guide for newsagents actually contains several articles by leading FMCG suppliers, covering the broad range of merchandise found in your local shop. As a result, Ian found himself commissioning, editing and designing features by the likes of Masterfoods, Walkers, Britvic, Red Bull, Cadbury Schweppes, to name a few. Each article gives retailers valuable insight into the latest market developments, along with essential stocking, display and merchandising tips. As well as laying out and editing the guide since 2004, Ian also re-designed the publication in 2005, while Design and Print Centre's David Miller handled all reprographic work in 2006, including the creation of print-ready pdfs.
